The building, former home of both Arch Coal and DirecTV, will feature 115,000 square feet of operating space, 34 classrooms and labs, 650 parking places.

Renovation will cost about $7.5 million. The construction project will convert the available space into a facility that includes nearly 40 classrooms and labs, a cafeteria, a learning resource center and a one-stop student service center. About 28 acres of land goes with the five-story, 115,000-square-foot building.

The Heart and Vascular Center is a $43.5 million 35,600 sq ft facility – the third phase of a major expansion for KDMC. Initial construction includes five floors, with a steel frame designed to be expanded to ten floors. The second floor includes a skywalk and dedicated elevator that provides direct access to the medical center.

The Foundation Building, located in downtown Huntington, WV, is being constructed by the Marshall University Foundation, Inc., which is primarily composed of the school’s alumni and friends. The building will be used for alumni as well as Marshall University functions and will include: office space, a call center, rooms for group meetings of varying sizes, board room, reception area and conference center.

The reception and conference spaces are coordinated with adjacent outdoor areas to provide easy flow between the two as weather and opportunity allow. These outdoor areas are provided with outdoor seating, trellises and other covered areas contributing to the overall desirability of the space. The structure is steel with brick and stone veneer; and has three floors totalling over 33,000 square feet.

Marshall University Recreation Center

In an effort to encourage the campus community to lead healthy lifestyles, Marshall University established the Wellness Coalition to provide wellness opportunities. The University commissioned Hastings+Chivetta, in collaboration with Capstone Development, to design a unique wellness village with a three-level Recreation Center flanked by two Residence Halls that emphasize “living-learning-wellness.”
